LWIR Infrared Thermal Camera VS standard Visible CMOS: Thermal Can See through GE Window but not thick plastic or glass

This video demonstrates that the wavelengths used by a LWIR thermal camera cannot see through regular window glass. However, the camera can see through the germanium window which appears shiny and reflective to the human eye.

The Handheld Thermal Camera operates in the LWIR Range with a 17um sensor and a 13mm fixed lens.
